TIGERLAD shifted out abruptly at the start, resulting in FAIRY FLOSS being hampered when taken out onto THE FULL BLOOM which was bumped.

From wide barriers, SHINEALOT, CAPTAIN BOSS and TRIUMPHANT LORD were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When being steadied in the early stages to obtain cover from a wide barrier, GOLDEN CANNON proved very difficult to settle and got its head up for some distance approaching and passing the 1200 Metres.

For some distance after the 1300 Metres, FAIRY FLOSS proved difficult to settle when being steadied to obtain cover when racing wide.

Near the 1100 Metres, FAIRY FLOSS shifted out and bumped GOLDEN CANNON.

GOLDEN CANNON subsequently travelled wide and without cover.

After the 700 Metres, FAIRY FLOSS commenced to travel keenly, got its head on the side and lay out when awkwardly placed behind THE FULL BLOOM.

After the 600 Metres, FAIRY FLOSS travelled close to the heels of THE FULL BLOOM.

In the early part of the Straight, GENERAL TRUMP was held up for clear running and approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of WINWIN THIRTYTHREE when disappointed for running between that horse and SUPERB AGILITY which shifted out after racing tight to the outside of SHINEALOT.

ART OF RAW had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

CAPTAIN BOSS was held up for clear running from passing the 250 Metres until after the 200 Metres.

Near the 175 Metres, SUPERB AGILITY was shifted out away from the heels of TIGERLAD which was giving ground.

When questioned, C Schofield stated that he was asked specifically to ensure that FAIRY GLOSS was able to obtain cover and it was hoped that the horse would be able to obtain a position behind the speed.

He said after being crowded for room at the start, he steadied FAIRY FLOSS to obtain cover, however, as GENERAL TRUMP was positioned to the inside of FAIRY FLOSS, he steadied his mount after the 1300 Metres to establish whether a position with cover behind that horse was available.

He added due to the slow tempo of the race, FAIRY FLOSS would not relax and therefore he was not able to steady the horse sufficiently to obtain a position with cover behind GENERAL TRUMP and this resulted in FAIRY FLOSS racing further back in the field than had been intended.

When questioned regarding the performance of THE FULL BLOOM, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, today's disappointing performance was attributable to the fact that THE FULL BLOOM was left racing wide and without cover after the 1000 Metres.

He said carrying 131 lbs with the rail placement in the C+3 position, THE FULL BLOOM was not suited by the wide trip and because of this was then not able to finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of THE FULL BLOOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

THE FULL BLOOM, SUPREME WITNESS and SEIZE THE SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
