Why luxury fashion brands love nepo babies – and it’s not just about good genes

From Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s “Jelena” romance, here’s a look at how our favourite celeb unions may have looked like today had they not broken up – and the fictional families that diehard fans wished for.

So who IS Jeremy Pomeroy?

Jeremy Pomeroy is the founder and creative director of marketing agency Total Marketing Australia, and has a background in graphic design.

Pomeroy describes himself as a AI pioneer, and says he creates images to challenge perceptions and has shared hopes that the new technology can help spark conversations.

Choosing his celebrity subjects

So how did he choose his muses? Sheer numbers – Pomeroy’s website states that his imaginary celeb families were based on fan followers.

As well as Aniston and Pitt (who split in 2005) and Tay Tay and Hazza (who dated briefly in 2012), the series includes an imaginary family birthed to Macaulay Culkin and Mila Kunis, who were together for eight years.

The depths of tabloid past

Looking even further back, Pomeroy portrays the happy union of Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp, whose three-year romance attracted a tabloid following before their 1993 split. In creating their hypothetical family, Pomeroy decided to imprint a Victorian style on the image.

Wearing a bodice gown with long lace sleeves, Ryder stands alongside Depp and their three hypothetical children who are all dressed in Victorian-era clothes – a “creative choice” which was aimed at highlighting a “sense of nostalgia”, the artist told Insider.

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams dated for two years after the filming of the classic love story The Notebook. Pomeroy places them in a bygone era with three hypothetical children; placed in front of a tea serving set, the “family” is wearing dated floral clothes and could easily be placed in 1946 – the era The Notebook was set in.

Celebrity romance wish list

The fake families are not just couples who split, but also some celebrities that we wished had dated or were rumoured to be together.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were widely rumoured to have a “spark” while filming and promoting their 2018 flick A Star is Born. Styled in all black with elements of cream, the famous could-have-been couple are pictured with three daughters.

The wish list extended to fictional characters too. Titanic lovers Rose and Jack – played by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio – are referred to as one of the greatest love stories of all time. The Aussie artist visualised them together as a couple with two children.

Although many of the images have gone viral, there has yet to be any reaction from the celebrities featured in the series.
